Charlotte Taylor

I have been following the adventures of Charlotte Taylor for a couple of years now. She originally worked for Luella, but jumped ship in order to create her own label. I am so glad that she did. I love everything about this collection, the fabrics are so elegant and the shapes effortless. I think the model is a perfect choice, Charlotte Taylor comes across quite fun and eccentric in her blog posts and I think the cheeky, inquisitive glances from the model really reflects the energy of the brand.  She is a real inspiration, I'm a total utter fan girl.

If anyone is listening the last dress, pale blue with peter pan collar will do nicely thanks.

To listen to Miss Taylor for yourself X marks the spot.

Koma Cape

I love this image so much I just had to share it. The cape is part of my AW collection for Eleanor's Riot and I'm going to have a hard time parting with it. Thanks to David Anderson and Denise Hawkes for the amazing effort with this shoot yesterday. I'm just dying to see the rest of the images.

Fifteen.Oh-Nine.Eleven.

Yesterday I presented Eleanor's Riot AW wear to Glasgow, at  regular pop up event Bold Souls. It was a hectic couple of weeks getting everything prepared, pressed and preened but I am so glad that I took a giant leap of faith and did it, I massively stepped outside of my comfort zone & now feel unstoppable! The event itself is run by glamorous Glasgow based designer Silvia Pellegrino of Chouchou. As an independent designer herself she understands the pressures that emerging businesses face and uses the event to really encourage and promote Scottish talent.

The room was full of all different angles of the fashion industry. Elaborate hair, make up and polka dot nails were on offer, models sashayed between stalls, several jewelers and vintage clothing were on offer too.  I was overwhelmed by the support that was dished out for Eleanor's Riot, it was great to meet so many people in the same position or ten steps ahead of me & everyone just so encouraging.

I have to give absolute praise to my beau, David Anderson, for the consistent support over the run up to the event. For taking such beautiful images for me to share with you all and for carrying all of my stuff through on the train across from Edinburgh to Glasgow. I no way would ever, or could ever have done it without him.

Submarine

I eventually got around to watching Submarine last night. For those who haven't seen it I don't think I can even begin to explain the storyline, for saying it out loud sounds a little absurd. But I can say it was visually stunning, simple and bittersweet. It made me laugh, feel awkward and a little broken hearted. It was like being 15 all over again.

Watch it xx

Snapshot

Hello Readers...

I am trying to gain a better understanding and insight into a wide demographic of consumer habits. Trying to take a snapshot to help me make some important decisions surrounding Eleanor's Riot and what direction I should go in. I realised recently that I make too many assumptions and have had a lucky run so far with positive feedback but now I want your input into helping me focus on what's best for Eleanor.

If you have a spare five minutes please click the link below and let me know what's important for you when out shopping.

X marks the spot.

And thank you so much. xx

Moving

With a lot of help I have freshened up Kiss on the Lips after deciding to incorporate it with my clothing label Eleanor's Riot. I won't try to overload you with too much news about the label, it will still be a personal place to look and listen to the things that I want to share. We've just tidied the place up a bit and also, moved to a new address. I compromised on the web address to begin with and am much happier to have all my projects tied together. If you are interested in what I've been up to professionally do click through the facebook or tumblr links over on the right.

Hope you like the changes. Tell your friends x

A/W Wishing

Eleanor's Riot Top, Topshop Fedora, Topshop Shorts, River Island Shoes.

River Island Dress, Topshop Blazer, Topshop Boots.

I have fallen so in love with the A/W Lookbooks that are starting to surface from the high street. I can never afford to buy as much as I want to from season to season so have to make sure I am careful to buy staples that will adapt over time.

I decided to team two pieces that I already have in my wardrobe with a couple of pieces from the high street that I will probably have to continue lusting over. The blouse is part of my debut collection, I can see myself continuing to wear it throughout A/W, layering it with cardigans as the months grow colder. It has an antique lace collar attached and these collars seem to be going nowhere. Thank goodness. I would love to wear it with these rich reds and tough mustards. A pair of ankle socks would finish this daytime look off perfectly.

This polka dot cutie I recently snapped up in River Island for £15(!!) In the sale. Polka Dots seem to be where it is at for the ladies over future months. Can Not Wait. I couldn't decide between the boots as have been dreaming of owning a pair like the Topshop wedge forever... (They would just go with so much) and am really starting to fall for these little mod cuties, I love how the Cuban heal would make the dress less feminine. Both pairs I can see myself slipping on in the morning and kicking off late at night. They would work really well as day to night pieces.

The blazer I would be inclined to swap for a fitted coat with a huge faux fur collar as the months draw in. But for now the Edinburgh weather is such that only a light jacket is needed.
